Thanks Al!
While I think most of us would jump at the chance to thank Al Gore for "[taking] the initiative in creating the internet", it seems we have something else for which to thank him (we being those with common sense).
Gore has been on a rabid campaign of misinformation and environmental zealotry, all based on crap. He even released a stupid movie about it.
Well, it turns out that we can thank him because the many actual climate change specialists that actually study - specifically - the relevant area are coming out to make the public aware of the inanity of the whole environmental-activist-fringe global warming crowd who have worked so hard to make misconceptions about global warming part of mainstream thought (a good look at that movement and its effects can be found in the very informative book State of Fear by Michael Crichton).
Until this point, these scientists have mostly just been doing their work, their opinions and the results of their work largely ignored. This despite both being incredibly relevant to the current arguments ranging from those between me and my liberal friends, to public policy and the hoopla over our lack of participation in the Kyoto treaty.
The cool thing is that I got this information from /. which is hardly known for it's pro-American, pro-Capitalist, pro-Market-Economics readers (although it's one of my favorite sites).
